Too Wide

(Erin Jordan)
Sitting on this stool in the same place every week - Sometimes real life is like some show on TV - The same conversation - the same rum and coke - the same sorts of stories - the same sorts of jokes.

We're like a shelf of China dolls lined up in a row - putting on a show for anyone to see. We fall into this world made of sugar and spice, but we learn to be less nice, somehow we learn to be less nice.

I opened the door too wide - in a city where you should just learn to avert your eyes. I opened the door too wide....

And you can take these words to heart - you're not getting your head start right here tonight - so, honey just go home and put your bad night to an end....

He said "I've got this itch I can not scratch and I would just give it to you, but you would just choose to pass - I know your type so well - you want to change the whole damn world without getting your hands dirty, don't you?"
I am looking from behind my glass at this sort of bell jar dance. These stories just gain a little more romance each time you tell them - so just leave them alone.

I opened the door too wide - geuss I should just learn to avert my mind. I opened the door too wide....

And you can take these words to heart - you're not getting your head start right here tonight. So why don't you go home and put your bad night to an end?. You can break another heart with your tiny kisses and your poison darts. Then you just go home and put your bad night to an end.......
