Erin Jordan: Music

Edge of the Continent (lyrics)

(Erin Jordan)
These things weren't done in marker I can't just wipe them off I thought I wanted them now. I thought I'd look back lovingly in ten years at how I wanted them when I was impulsive. Walking this thin line between logical and magical and superficial and just because it's possible......

I put on these wings for a bad day. The ocean is a few hours away. You know I never run out of the same things to say.

No one is jealous - there are no bad feelings - no regret. No one here is crying - we just like to keep the conversation wet.

This city is full of roses and mystery and everyone here is very young and very pretty. Everyone is on pilgrimage of some kind. We are binded by money, we are binded by fear, but we are no longer strangers in this strange city here. You will be a loner no matter where you are. Even if you had a job I wouldn't kick you out.

It rained for 40 days we crawled on to that ship. All our friends were there - we were really living it. If I were a bird of a fish I wouldn't fall into this trap. If I were a mermaid or a pixie I would learn to surpass.

If you want to know what I was thinking take a good look at my arms and you can read me like a clift note and judge as you will.

We drove all the way to the edge of the the continent this time. Traded all reason for a little bit of rhyme. No one is jealous - there are no bad feelings - no regret. No one is crying - we just like to keep the conversation wet.
